•     Leslie Charteris (1907-1993), born Leslie Charles Bowyer-Yin, was a British-Chinese author of adventure fiction, as well as a screenwriter. He was best known for his many books chronicling the adventures of his hero Simon Templar, alias "The Saint".
•      The Saint is an extensive book series of detective stories written by Leslie Charteris. Following the book series, a television series was made from 1962 to 1969, starring Roger Moore. The title The Saint refers to the main character Simon Templar, also called The Saint, because his initials "ST" are the English (and Dutch) abbreviation for "saint" or "sint".
