  •      Norman Colin Dexter (1930–2017) was an English crime writer known for his Inspector Morse series of novels, which were written between 1975 and 1999 and adapted as an ITV television series, Inspector Morse, from 1987 to 2000.
  •      John Edward Thaw (1942–2002) was an English actor who was best known for the detective series Inspector Morse in which he played the title role 33 times. The series ran from 1987 to 2000. His assistant in the series Robbie Lewis (played by Kevin Whately) was given a sequel to the original series under the name Lewis.
  •      Inspector Morse is a popular television series that was shown on British television from 1987 to 2000, but also became very famous in Belgium and the Netherlands through its (re)broadcasts on Canvas and KRO. Inspector Morse is based on the books by Colin Dexter.
