Soms word je direct verliefd op een auto: dat is zeker het geval bij deze schitterende gerestaureerde "Kever". Deze is in 1963 gebouwd door de carrosseriebouwer Karmann en nieuw geleverd in de Verenigde Staten. In 2020 is de restauratie afgerond en is de auto op Nederlands kenteken geregistreerd. De restauratie is professioneel uitgevoerd en dat is te zien: kosten noch moeite zijn bespaard en er zijn hoogwaardige producten en materialen gebruikt, waardoor de auto in uitmuntende staat verkeert. De auto is dan ook getaxeerd op staat 1, de best mogelijke klasse (met een taxatiewaarde van € 75.000). De auto kan niet op matching numbers worden gecontroleerd maar is wel op originaliteit gecontroleerd. Zo beschikt de auto origineel over de neerdraaibare achterruiten (in tegenstelling tot veel replica's). De bruine cabrioletkap is op luxueuze en exclusieve wijze vervaardigd door een gerenommeerd Duits bedrijf (KHM Cabrioverdecke). Hierbij is een tonneaucover en hoes aanwezig. De kleurencombinatie van de auto is schitterend: Pearlwhite lakwerk met een bruine kap en beige interieur. Dit interieur is voorzien van hoogwaardige vloermatten en de originele, werkende radio. Ook bij het rijden in de auto voel je dat er liefde in gestoken is: hij rijdt en schakelt uitstekend. Een uniek fraai exemplaar in concoursstaat!


Algemene informatie over de Volkswagen Beetle Type 1/15 Karmann Cabriolet
Al vanaf 1948 werden er in gelimiteerde oplage Volkswagen Beetle's aangepast door carrosseriebouwers. Eén daarvan was Karmann, die de ambitie had om een sportieve cabrioletversie in grotere aantallen te produceren. De Beetle cabriolet werd geproduceerd van 1949 tot 1981, waarbij grofweg gesteld kan worden dat hoe ouder het bouwjaar, hoe zeldzamer, gewilder en prijziger de auto. Ook zijn veel replica's vervaardigd. Een originele en vroeg geproduceerd exemplaar in goede staat wordt dan ook steeds zeldzamer. De 4-cilinder boxer motor is achterin geplaatst en wordt bediend door een handgeschakelde 4-versnellingsbak.

Sometimes you instantly fall in love with a car: this is certainly the case with this beautifully restored ‘Beetle’. It was built in 1963 by coachbuilder Karmann and delivered new in the United States. In 2020, the restoration was completed and the car was registered on Dutch registration plates. The restoration was carried out professionally and it shows: neither cost nor effort were spared and high-quality products and materials were used, leaving the car in excellent condition. The car has therefore been appraised at state 1, the best possible class (with an appraisal value of €75,000). The car cannot be checked for matching numbers but has been checked for originality. For example, the car originally has the swing-down rear windows (unlike many replicas). The brown convertible top has been luxuriously and exclusively manufactured by a renowned German company (KHM Cabrioverdecke). This includes a tonneau cover and cover. The colour combination of the car is stunning: pearl-white paintwork with a brown hood and beige interior. This interior has high-quality floor mats and the original, working radio. Even when driving the car, you can feel that love has been put into it: it drives and shifts superbly. A uniquely beautiful car in concours condition!

As early as 1948, limited edition Volkswagen Beetles were modified by coachbuilders. One of these was Karmann, whose ambition was to produce a sporty cabriolet version in larger numbers. The Beetle convertible was produced from 1949 to 1981, where it can be roughly said that the older the year of manufacture, the rarer, more desirable and pricier the car. Many replicas were also manufactured. An original and early produced example in good condition is therefore becoming increasingly rare. The 4-cylinder boxer engine is rear-mounted and operated by a 4-speed manual transmission.
