Een absolute beauty: deze waanzinnig mooi uitgevoerde BMW 628 CSi uit 1984. De modelcode E24 betreft de eerste generatie 6-serie. Dit model is niet alleen sportief zoals een BMW betaamd maar staat ook bekend als BMW's eerste luxe GT.

OPTISCH
Dit exemplaar is smaakvol samengesteld door de eerste Franse eigenaar en dat is te zien: het prachtige lakwerk in "Achat Grun" metallic (kleurcode 177), een beige lederen interieur en de optionele achterspoiler en airconditioning. De kenmerkende Franse koplampen, striping en Alpina velgen (2022) maken het plaatje compleet. Na zijn vele levensjaren in Frankrijk is de BMW in 2017 geëxporteerd naar België en in 2022 geïmporteerd in Nederland. Voor zover wij hebben kunnen beoordelen is de auto schadevrij geweest en vrij van laswerk. De auto is mooi geconserveerd gebleven in het Franse klimaat. Het lakwerk verkeert in prachtige staat zonder noemenswaardige krassen of deuken. In de richtingaanwijzer aan de linker achterzijde zit een lichte scheur. De rubbers zijn in goede staat en zijn niet verdroogd. Ook het chroomwerk is in goede staat. Ramen en verlichting zijn nog fris. Met name aan de voorzijde kan een poetsbeurt het chroomwerk perfectioneren.

INTERIEUR
Het interieur verkeert in algehele goede staat zonder (noemenswaardige) beschadigingen. De beige lederen bekleding is vrij van scheuren en is niet gescheurd. Ook de vloermatten zijn in goede staat. De BMW is rijk uitgevoerd met onder meer airconditioning, elektrisch bedienbare ramen (voor en achter) en een radio/cd-speler. De grote kofferruimte is droog en verkeert eveneens in goede staat.

TECHNISCH
Sindsdien is uitvoerig onderhoud gepleegd van meer dan 4000 EUR, waarvan de documentatie aanwezig is. Zo is bij een kilometerstand van 229.308 kilometer een onderhoudsbeurt uitgevoerd waarbij naast de het vervangen van de motorolie en oliefilter de cilinderkoppen zijn gerepareerd. Ook zijn de koppakkingen, klepdekselpakkingen, draagarmen, spoorstang, radiateur, ruiterwisserbladen, schokdempers, veren voor en achter, luchtfilter, bougies, lampen in de achterlichten en de complete uitlaat vervangen. Daarnaast is de auto uitgelijnd. Een aankoopfactuur uit 2022 ter waarde van € 1.350,- is aanwezig van de 4 Alpina velgen en banden. In 2023 zijn de dynamo en tellerklok gereviseerd. Het originele aflever- en instructieboekje zijn bij de auto aanwezig, evenals onderhoudsfacturen die teruggaan tot zijn tijd in Frankrijk. De motorruimte is mooi droog en de auto rijdt goed. De 2.8-liter 6-cilinder motor in combinatie met de 5-versnelling handgeschakelde transmissie maakt het rijden fantastisch. De auto start, rijdt en schakelt goed. Met een APK tot 2026 is deze auto klaar voor jaren rijplezier. Een steeds meer geliefde oldtimer waardoor het ook financieel een interessante investering is.

ALGEMENE INFORMATIE
De E24 werd geproduceerd van 1976 tot 1989 en was de opvolger van de E9 (2800 CS, 3.0 CS). Het is een luxe 4-zits coupe die werd geleverd met verschillende 6-cilinder motoren. De 628 CSi is voorzien van een 2.8-liter injectiemotor met 184 pk. Dankzij het relatief lage zwaartepunt en lage gewicht (1.390 KG) staat de auto bekend om zijn fijne rijeigenschappen. In 1982 werd de E24 gefacelift waarbij technische en optische verbeteringen zijn doorgevoerd. Ook is de facelift-uitvoering aanzienlijk minder gevoelig voor roestvorming. Het fraaie design is kenmerkend en dankzij het overhellende front staat het model ook wel bekend als de "Shark". Een origineel exemplaar is tegenwoordig steeds schaarser en geliefder.

An absolute beauty: this insanely beautifully executed 1984 BMW 628 CSi. The model code E24 refers to the first generation 6-series. This model is not only sporty as befits a BMW but is also known as BMW's first luxury GT.

OPTICAL
This example was tastefully put together by the first French owner and it shows: the beautiful paintwork in "Achat Grun" metallic (colour code 177), a beige leather interior and the optional rear spoiler and air conditioning. The distinctive French headlights, striping and Alpina rims (2022) complete the picture. After its many years of life in France, the BMW was exported to Belgium in 2017 and imported to the Netherlands in 2022. As far as we have been able to assess, the car has been damage-free and free of welding. The car has remained beautifully preserved in the French climate. The paintwork is in beautiful condition with no significant scratches or dents. There is a slight crack in the direction indicator at the left rear. The rubbers are in good condition and have not dried out. Chrome work is also in good condition. Windows and lights are still fresh. Especially at the front, a polish could perfect the chrome work.

INTERIOR
The interior is in overall good condition with no (significant) damage. The beige leather upholstery is free of cracks and is not torn. The floor mats are also in good condition. The BMW is richly equipped, including air conditioning, power windows (front and rear) and a radio/CD player. The large boot is dry and is also in good condition.

TECHNICAL
Extensive maintenance of more than EUR 4000 has been carried out since then, the documentation of which is present. For instance, at a mileage of 229,308 kilometres, a service was carried out in which the cylinder heads were repaired in addition to the engine oil and oil filter changes. Also replaced were the head gaskets, valve cover gaskets, wishbones, track rod, radiator, wiper blades, shock absorbers, front and rear springs, air filter, spark plugs, bulbs in the rear lights and the complete exhaust. In addition, the car has been aligned. A purchase invoice from 2022 worth €1,350 is present of the 4 Alpina rims and tyres. In 2023, the alternator and counter clock were overhauled. The original delivery and instruction booklet are present with the car, as well as maintenance invoices dating back to its time in France. The engine compartment is nicely dry and the car drives well. The 2.8-litre 6-cylinder engine combined with the 5-speed manual transmission makes driving great. The car starts, drives and shifts well. With an MOT until 2026, this car is ready for years of driving pleasure. An increasingly popular vintage car making it an interesting investment financially too.
