I have here for sale a book entitled PHYTOLOGIA; or The Philosophy of Agriculture and Gardening with the Theory of Draining Morasses and with an Improved Construction of the Drill Plough by Erasmus Darwin, Charles Darwin's grandfather. It is a first edition published by J Johnson, London in 1800. It is an ex-library edition but the only evidence of that is one very small purple library stamp to the bottom of a few of the pages. There are 12 b/w plates, some of them fold-out with explanations alongside. The book is divided into 3 main sections - Part I Physiology of Vegetation; Part II Economy of Vegetation; Part III Agriculture and Horticulture. The Appendix covers the improved construction of the drill plough.
