"You've heard of the Golden Rule, haven't you? Whoever has the gold makes the rules!" Jafar, the villainous Grand Vizier of Agrabah, has disguised himself to look like a lonely old prisoner in this animation production drawing prepared for the production of the animated fantasy feature, Walt Disney Pictures Aladdin! Produced by the team of Walt Disney Feature Animation, Walt Disney Pictures Aladdin, inspired by the namesake Arabic folktale from 1,001 Arabian Nights, reimagined the tale to become the highest grossing box-office blockbuster of 1992. The rough drawing depicting Jafar posed as a lonely old prisoner were rendered in pencils for a sequence that appears around the 27:10 - 27:13 mark of the motion picture, when Jafar attempts to persuade Aladdin to enter the Cave of Wonders and seek out the lamp. This artwork has an image size of 13" x 11" on animation paper measuring 17" x 12.5", and is in very good condition overall, exhibiting minimal wrinkles and creases. Upon completion of the motion picture, some of the artwork was issued to members of the creative team at Walt Disney Feature Animation, who brought the stars of Aladdin to life.
