The NXAFAN30CFMF is a spare cooling fan module designed for use in certain Cisco “Nexus” switches (2K, 3K, 9K series) and related networkswitch / fabricextender chassis. It is a singlefan, modular fan — meaning it can be installed, replaced or removed independently from the rest of the chassis.

Features:

• Portside exhaust airflow (“forward airflow”) — the “F” suffix and bluecolor coding indicate that this fan exhausts air out through the port side (i.e. from the switch’s internal bay toward the “exhaust” side), supporting effective chassis ventilation within rack layouts.
• Airflow rating ~30CFM — the fan is rated to move roughly 30 cubic feet of air per minute, a specification meant to match the cooling needs of the chassis it is designed for.
• Compact modular unit — at about 0.26 lb ( 0.12 kg) per module, it’s light and easy to swap without heavy tools or complicated disassembly.
• Hotswappable / userreplaceable (within supported chassis) — Designed so that network administrators can replace failing fans without removing the entire switch from the rack.
