It's Not Only Rock 'n' Roll Baby! — Jérôme Sans — BOZAR
Auteur: Jérôme Sans Michael Bracewell
Alle productspecificatiesSamenvattingThe visual art that inspired the most popular musicians of the 70s until today.
On the occasion of the 33rd anniversary of the famed Rock Werchter festival and the upcoming exhibition at the Palais des Beaux Arts in Bruxelles (Bozar), this book explores the "unknown" visual side of the most popular rock and pop bands, giving insight into the genesis of their music. Most of the bands have linked contemporary art to their songwritings and have engaged in productive crossover.
This book compiles the artworks of bands and musicians from the 70s until today, bands and musicians for whom visual art is another string in their creative process.
Featuring over 20 artists including: Brian Eno, Yoko Ono, Kim Gordon (Sonic Youth, Bassist), Lou Reed, Patti Smith, Ron Wood (Rolling Stones Guitarist), David Bowie, Jonsi Birgisson (Sigur Ros), The Kills, Devendra Banhart, Anthony and the Johnsons, Mika, Graham Coxon (Blur), Vashti Bunyan, Chicks on Speed, Fischerspooner, Nick Zinner (Yeah Yeah Yeahs), Pete Doherty, Tv on the Radio.
