His research into the field of ceramic art residencies carried out with the Ceramic Arts Research Centre at the University of Sunderland (CARCuos) in the UK followed many years of work at centres around the world. He currently maintains studios in both Amsterdam in the Netherlands and Xiamen in the south of China.
