Beschrijving

A decent sized Roger Guerin jug with two big ear shaped handels, both placed on opposing sides directly connected from the upper rim to the middle of the body. This vase dates back to the 20th century and was made in Belgium, Bouffioulx.

R. Guerin lived from 1896-1954 and created a fair amount of different clay pots and vases. These were baked at temperatures of 1250 degrees celcius and finely glazed in different colours creating their unique colour patterns.

This vase uses somber colours such as dark grey, red brownish, light brown beige. These were probably applied through glaze dipping (although the inside looks to be painted a different way) and a sort of splatter technique to finish the glaze.

IMPORTANT NOTE. This vase is mildly chipped on its foot, as well as a tiny chip on the bottom of the lip in the upper rim.

This vase weighs a total of 3,7 kg, has a max diameter 30,5 cm and a height of 27,5 cm.
