Donald verslycken, alias Don Ken (1956) is a Belgian painter. His work is playful and universal and shows clear pop art influences.
Don Ken was trained as a photographer. He became famous as a fashion and advertising photographer, but now mainly focuses on his career as a painter. He is influenced by pop art artists like Andy Warhol, and includes Disney and Warner Bros. characters in his work. That idea led to his big break. After months of negotiations with Disney, he managed to arrange an exclusive agreement. Worldwide, Don Ken is virtually the only artist who can integrate figures of Mickey, Donald and other Disney characters in his work. This piece measures 70 x 60 cm.
