De Verloren Wijsheid is a print from Belgian artist, Frank Slabbinck. These prints were limited to a total amount of 99, this being the 42nd.
The print displays a beautiful, imaginative drawing which was established using mixed media such as through the use of a pencil, different print techniques and paint.
The scene depicts a sort of nobleman, sitting down on his throne while on his left, two of his "pet" jaguars sit close by his side and are kept on a leash. To his right, a gradient of colours fills up the empty background while in the foreground, a mechanical bird can be seen standing on a pedastal.
On the bottom right, the print was signed with the name "Frank Slabbinck". On The bottom left, "42/99" was written. The sealing on the back was signed with Franks name.
The print is in a superb condition. The frame is in a great condition with some wear on its corners.
The print along with its frame measures a width of 83 cm, a height of 101,5 cm, a depth of 1,5 cm and weighs approximately around 10 - 15 kg.
