The photograph was taken by Hubertus Hierl, whose images bring out the profound experience Picasso had at the event. Werner Spies, Picasso expert and former director of the Centre Pompidou in Paris, states that Hierl’s photographs "show what Picasso sees and feels," offering an intimate view of the artist during this significant moment in his life.
