The modern sculpture Womans Head was created by the Italian artist Amedeo Modigliani in 1912. While the original sculpture of Womans Head was made of stone this recast is made of bronze. The original is nowadays exhibited at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.The sculpture was affixed on a base of marble. Womans Head is a sculpture with a very noble and majestic touch. The pure design of the sculpture is a typical characteristic of all sculptures made by Modigliani. For the perfect finish the modern sculpture Womans Head was signed with Modigliani.

Womans Head is great abstract art, originally made by Amedeo Modigliani. The artist Modigliani was working as sculptor, painter and as illustrator but finally became famous for his nude paintings that were once considered very scandalous. During 1904 and 1914 Modigliani mainly worked as a sculptor; during this time he also created the sculpture  Womans Head. Furthermore he was friends with Pablo Picasso and Constantin Brancusi. During his lifetime he never gained great success and tragically died very early at the age of 35 because of tuberculosis. Post hum his artworks became great bestsellers and very expensive collector items.
