Canasta was launched in 1950 by the French couture house Jacques Fath, one of the most influential fashion designers in post-war Paris. Fath was considered a rival to Christian Dior and helped define the glamour of the era. He worked with famous perfumer Vincent Roubert, who created several iconic scents for the house.

Canasta was part of Fath’s high-end perfume line and is now considered rare and collectible, especially in original bottles with labels and tags intact —

✨ Bottle Design:

The flacons (bottles) are a key part of its appeal. The glass is cut in an elegant, faceted diamond-like shape, topped with a conical stopper — embodying the Art Deco influence still popular in luxury packaging of that time.
• The large bottle in your photo still has its original string tag labeled “CANASTA Jacques Fath” — a valuable detail for collectors.
