Julius Caesar denarius (3.45 g, 18 mm). Africa mint, 47–46 B.C.

Obv: Diademed head of Venus right.
Rev: Aeneas advancing left, carrying Anchises on left shoulder and palladium in right hand. Inscription: CAESAR.

It was minted in North Africa, likely during Caesar’s campaign against the Pompeians in 47–46 B.C. (the Battle of Thapsus period).
