1965 Gibson Melody Maker D (dual pickup) in Cherry with CITES certificate.

This little beauty has a few assets that have given it its reputation :

- Honduran mahogany body
- One-piece Honduran mahogany neck
- Brazilian rosewood fingerboard
- Two pickups (original Gibson neck + '90s Dimarzio DP181)
- 1x Centralab and 2x CTS pots (the bridge pickup volume pot has been replaced)
- 22 frets
- Typical Gibson 24.75" scale length
- Lightweight (2.665 kg)

This one has a narrow nut (1 9/16) but the neck is very rounded and rather thick despite this, nothing like a slim taper. I prefer '50s necks and this one is super comfortable to play!

The bridge pickup, tuners, volume pot (bridge), bridge, and knobs are not original. I don't have the original parts or the vibrola. The studs are Tonepros locks, but the originals are included.

There was a break at the neck/body junction that seems to have been repaired a long time ago. It doesn't move or interfere with anything.

As you can see, the guitar has been played a lot; it's a player guitar with checking everywhere!

Many people install P90s or humbuckers, and I wanted to do the same, but the Dimarzio and Gibson single coils in the neck work very well this way. The sound is sweet, clear, but also aggressive with a hint of fuzz/distortion. If you ever want to replace the pickups with P90s, opt for the Lollar Melody Maker P90s, which are designed to be installed without modification.

It will be sold with a newer generic case.

Pickup in Brussels, or I can ship it to you without any hassle.
