Selling my 1980 Ash / maple Fender Precision Special
first series, Candy Apple Red finish
I used to play it as standard passive Precision with a passive VOL/TONE circuit and an older Seymour Duncan SPB1 pickup. I have stored the original electronics, which is fixed to the original pickguard and original pickup. All these elements come with the bass and work as they should.
This instrument is built like a tank, far better than the late 70'ies Precisions, very resonant, straight, solid one piece maple neck, frets and fretboard in good shape.
Clean neck and fretboard without dongs .
Truss rod turns smoothly and is not drilled into the neck wood.
Weight is only 4,5. Kg, which is quiet exceptional : most of these basses are close to 6 kg !
