In terms of sound, it is the Spanish equivalent of the mandola/mandolin, only that it is tuned in quartets from g#2 (4th fret of the bass E in a guitar), to A4 (5th fret of the treble E). It was created in response to the needs of guitarists who did not embrace quartal tuning. All strings duplicated.Great for melody/tremolo playing. For chordal playing a mandolin/mandola would work better.There is an indication of the manufacturer Vicente Sanchis (Antigua Casa Ricardo Sanchis) inside. However, there is no indication of the date of manufacture. Aprox 1960's.Got 2 hairline cracks who have been glued on the top, the top have been gotten a bit down, see photo's but doesnt effect the sound. Straight neck easy playable.The 480 mm scale provides a comfort you won't find on a mandolin.The saddle width is approx. 54 mm.Overall length approx. 850 mmThe width of body at its widest point is 325 mm.Fully playable/aligned.
