Its very exciting when a rare instrument comes along, This is a fabulous simple vintage sitar with a great "old sound". Its maker, the famous Sher Mohammad from Lahore in Pakaistan, was the teacher of the famous instrument makers Rikkhi Ram and Katar and Hari Chand of Delhi. They learnt how to make their sitars from him in the 1940s. This sitar is about 70 - 80 years old, and has recently been fully renovated whilst keeping all the original parts.
The sitar is presently in the Pancham Gandara style, its tarafs are very responsive and it has a fantastic sustain. This particular sitar came to Europe via Afghanistan and was once in an antique shop in the 1950s.
There is no flightcase or bag included.
