Stijlvolle en coole fauteuil ontworpen door P.J. Muntendam voor de Nederlandse fabrikant Gebr. Jonkers rond 1960. De gebroeders Jonkers waren beroemd om hun rotanstoelen en meubels.

Deze fauteuil bestaat uit een teakhouten structuur, een rotan rugleuning en een zwarte leren zitting. Al met al is dit een zeer mooie moderne stoel uit het midden van de eeuw die in elk interieur past.

De fauteuil is verrassend slank en compact, maar toch erg comfortabel. De hoofdsteun kan worden verwijderd of de lengte kan worden aangepast met de knopen op de riemen, zodat deze hoger zit dan op de foto's.

Het is in goede staat, met wat ouderdomssporen en gebruikssporen, zoals je zou verwachten van een originele stoel uit die periode. Rotan heeft heel weinig gebreken die het comfort of de functionaliteit niet mogen beïnvloeden.

Idealiter kan de fauteuil worden opgehaald in Schaarbeek, maar ik kan helpen een verzendoplossing te vinden.



Elegant and cool lounge chair designed by P.J. Muntendam for the Dutch manufacturer Gebr. Jonkers around 1960. The Jonkers brothers were famous for their rattan chairs and furniture.

It features a teak frame, a rattan backrest and a black leather seat. Overall a very nice midcentury-modern chair, that will look good in any interior.

The armchair is surprisingly slender and space-saving but still very comfortable. The headrest can be removed, or the length adjusted by using the buttons on the straps, so it rests higher than shown in the pictures.

It's in good condition, with some signs of age and use as to be expected from an original chair from that time. The rattan only shows very few flaws which shouldn't affect comfort or functionality.
