50's Art The Datejust remains to be one of the most popular vintage watches. It's not only an all-time classic, but its versatility is something else. The Datejust is wearable in any setting and the design ethos remains quite the same for the Datejust since its debut in 1945. This Datejust 6305 is from the 50's and just shows you how powerful the design was. The best part of this watch? There are too many to encounter, but we'll do our best. Let's first start with the beautifully aged creamy-colored period correct service dial together with the alpha hands. The watch is from a period where they still used radium, but you can find a 'T-Swiss-T' stamp at the 6 hour position. Why? That's because it's a service dial, but not just a regular one. This service dial is surely provided by Rolex, because of the tiny detail you maybe didn't saw in the first place. The ''Superlative'' is missing in the SLOC stamp which is correct for the earlier 6305 models. That's also why you can still see the beautiful aging process because it's an early and period correct service dial! Really cool in our opinion. The patina on the applied coronet, hour markers and hands truly adds to the vintage charm. One of our favourite features? The roulette date wheel which adds on the overall aesthetic of this timeless piece. It's always a pleasure to offer a Datejust, but offering something special like this one is always something else. The watch comes with a two-year warranty and is fully serviced by our watchmakers. Ready for someone who knows what to look for in buying a vintage piece!

Released in 1945, the Datejust is Rolex’s longest standing collection and was created to commemorate the company's 40th anniversary. Unlike other Rolex watches, the Datejust was not designed for a specific activity or environment and simply exists as a smart, reliable timepiece.

Pioneering for its time, the Datejust was the first self-winding watch to feature a date display window and also the first Rolex watch to use the Jubilee bracelet design. Combined with the tried and true Oyster case, the Datejust is both understated and elegant and looks at home in both casual and formal settings. The watch is also available in a variety of dial designs, case sizes and metals making it the most versatile series in the Rolex collection.

Having been a permanent fixture in the Rolex collection for over 75 years, the Datejust is ingrained in the public consciousness and for many, represents exactly what Rolex is about. The watch has had its fair share of renowned wearers over the years including Dwight D Eisenhower and Martin Luther King Jr. and has appeared countless times in cinema and TV.

The simplicity of the Datejust is one of its defining characteristics and a big reason why it’s proved so popular over the years. Winding and setting the watch is incredibly easy to do: simply unscrew the crown from the case and turn clockwise to wind the movement. Pulling the crown out one click and turning will set the date and a second click to set the time. Once all three have been done, press the crown in, screw back into the case and put the watch on your wrist and let the self winding movement keep the power topped up whilst you wear it.
