SDY fan speed controllers effectively control the speed of single-phase voltage controllable motors by varying the motor voltage via phase angle control (Triac technology). The central rotary knob, easy to operate, allows the output voltage to the motor to be smoothly adjusted from high to low. Turning it fully counterclockwise places the knob in the OFF position, while turning it clockwise gives the following sequence: OFF - high speed - low speed.
For motors that prefer not to run too slowly, the built-in trimmer offers a convenient solution. It allows the minimum speed to be adjusted as desired.
The versatile housing allows both flush mounting (IP44) and surface mounting (IP54), allowing the SDY to meet various installation requirements. The SDY not only stands out due to its contemporary design as the successor to the MTY, but also due to its advanced microprocessor-controlled technology. This feature ensures precise motor control and minimizes unwanted motor noise. The SDY series thus delivers optimum performance with a focus on modern design and advanced functionality.
Quiet motor operation
This new generation of speed controllers is controlled by a microprocessor. This makes the control particularly accurate and the motor makes considerably less noise than with a traditional triac controller.
From low to high
The SDY series regulates the speed from low to high. So as soon as you click it out of its zero position (all the way to the left), it goes to the minimum speed. And the more you turn it to the right, the higher the speed. If you prefer to regulate the speed from high to low, the SDX speed controller is your solution.
Reduced installation time
Thanks to the spring contacts, you will need less time for connection and installation in general. They also ensure reliable contact for both stranded and solid core wires.
One housing for various mounting options
The housing, which is made of high-quality, UV-resistant ASA plastic, not only looks sleek, it also protects the device from unwanted impact. It protects the device against ingress of dust, moisture and dirt according to IP44 if built-in or IP54 if surface-mounted
Unregulated output
As soon as the motor is driven, the 230 VAC supply voltage becomes available on the unregulated output. This output can therefore be used to activate a valve, an indicator light, etc.
Disabling the OFF position
In some situations it is advisable that the ventilation cannot or may not be switched off. By connecting the power supply to the unregulated output (L1 and N), the OFF position (fully counterclockwise) can be switched off. In that case, the L terminal is not used.
