Automatic speed controller for single phase AC fans. The device has 2 controllable motor outputs, each with a maximum (combined) motor current of 6 A. The motors can operate synchronously or separately. The fan speed is automatically controlled based on the measurements of the connected HVAC sensors. Up to 4 HVAC sensors can be connected via the RJ45 connection (Power over Modbus). In addition, there are 2 analogue inputs, 2 analogue outputs and 2 tacho inputs available. Application specific firmware can be downloaded via HVACWeb. The built-in internet gateway can be connected via a LAN cable or via WiFi.

Various functionalities
We offer a number of application specific firmware versions for typical HVAC applications (e.g. destratification, demand-driven fan speed control, etc.). First select the desired functionality via the "Solutions" page on our website and then download the application specific firmware to the TCMF8 controller. If necessary, it is possible to adjust some settings via the Modbus Holding registers. No programming is required!Inputs and Outputs
This controller has two outputs to control AC fans with single-phase motor. The maximum combined current is 3 A per output. The fan speed is controlled by reducing the motor voltage via phase angle control / TRIAC technology.

Connecting sensors or potentiometers
External HVAC sensors or potentiometers can be connected to the TCMF8 via Modbus RTU or via the analog inputs. To simplify the wiring of the external devices, 24 Volt power is available via the RJ45 connector. The 24 Volt power and Modbus communication can be distributed via a single cable - we call this Power over Modbus or PoM. All settings can be adjusted via the Modbus Holding registers.

Thermal motor protection
When an AC motor fails, it is often due to overheating. In order to detect motor overheating in time, some motors are equipped with TK or thermal contacts. These thermal contacts measure the temperature in the motor windings. The TCMF8 controllers can monitor two thermal motor contacts. In the event of motor overheating, the TK monitoring function will switch off the motor to prevent permanent motor damage. The TK of the motor can be connected to the TK and 24 VDC terminals.

IP54 Wall Mountable Enclosure
This fan speed controller can be mounted on a wall or panel. Make sure that the controller can cool sufficiently. Preferably install it in a cool place, preferably not in direct sunlight. The enclosure is made of high-quality r-ABS VO (UL94) plastic. This material is flame retardant, very strong and offers good protection against shocks. It offers IP54 protection against dust and water ingress.
