Le chêne nécessite un traitement de finition OBLIGATOIRE (de préférence avec un vernis bicomposant ou un autre produit protecteur efficace) d'au moins 2 couches sur toutes les faces et tous les côtés.
Pour une protection à long terme, il est recommandé de vernir ou huiler la face supérieure 3 fois.
Il est conseillé de fixer les planches en chêne avec des boulons de meuble. Surtout les planches de 20/22 mm d'épaisseur.
