•      Alex Raymond, full name Alexander Gillespie Raymond, (1909-1956) was an American cartoonist. He is best known for his creation Flash Gordon, which he made for King Features Syndicate in 1934.

Raymond's comic work was not limited to Flash Gordon. He created several comic book characters, including Secret Agent X-9, Rip Kirby, Jungle Jim, Tim Tyler's Luck, and Tillie the Toiler.
