Today's Europe is one of the most challenging mission fields in the world. Secularism and materialism have conspired to turn Europeans off the Christian faith and reject their centuries-old Christian heritage. This spiritual challenge is compounded by multiculturalism which has reduced Christianity to only one of many religious options available to the continent's 730 million people. While the church has exploded in many parts of the world, in Europe it remains small, marginalised and besieged. The challenge of reaching Europe with the gospel is one of the greatest facing the global church today. Nearly half a century ago a young visionary by the name of Colin Tilsley started a missionary movement called Gospel Literature Outreach. His aim was to reach people all over the world with the gospel. This work grew and became firmly established in Europe in the 1970's. This is the story of GLO Europe and the people who committed their lives to reaching Europeans for Christ. The mission of GLO Europe is to train and mobilise Christians to bring hope to people all over Europe by sharing the good news of Jesus Christ. Thousands of people have gone on summer teams with GLO sharing this message and reaching the unreached. Hundreds have trained at Tilsley College (the training wing of GLO) and dozens of missionaries serve on residential teams across Europe planting churches and mobilising Christians for evangelism. This book tells the exciting story of GLO Europe, a mission movement dedicated to taking the gospel to millions of Europeans who are lost and in need of spiritual life. It is an account of ordinary people who attempted the extraordinary by committing themselves to the cause of mission. This book has been written to celebrate forty years of GLO Europe.
