When Paul Huf decided to become a professional photographer in 1942, he specialised primarily in portrait photography. Later on he considered his decision to have been particularly fortuitous. Over the course of the years he had the occasion to photograph such international stars as Brigitte Bardot, Sophia Loren and Jacques Tati. He also attained the status of court photographer which meant that he had the honour as a Dutch subject to photograph the Queen of the Netherlands.
