Presented in two volumes. The history of the company is covered in volume one, looking at sports racing and grand prix cars along with production models. Complementing this general look at Maserati is a chapter entitled ‘The Maserati brothers as I remember them’ by Giovanni Lurani and concluding this first volume is a register of racing success from 1926 to 1964. In volume two, the focus is to catalogue, illustrate and give specifications details for each Maserati model produced from the Tipo 26 in 1926 through to the 3200 GT, Spyder and Coupe of 2002. A fine array of photographs has been selected to illustrate this publication which would act as a super reference work for any marque enthusiast. In the very final pages of the second volume, there is a reproduction of the 1930 Maserati sales brochure, which ranks highly amongst one of the rarest automotive catalogues to be produced and would be the ‘holy grail’ for many brochure collectors.
