Deze prachtige Austin Healey is geproduceerd in oktober 1961 en is volledig gerestaureerd in 1994 door marktspecialist Kees Cardol in Nederland. Hij is nieuw geleverd in een Colorado Red (Colorado (Signal) Red: BMC code RD2, ICI code 3742), samen met een zwart interieur met rode bies. Bij de Healey is een Heritage certificaat aanwezig waaruit blijkt dat deze bijzondere Healey 'matching numbers' en 'matching colours' is. Uniek is de originele 'Old English White' hardtop, vandaag de dag een kostbare accessoire. De auto heeft deelgenomen aan een groot aantal milde wegrally's en stond regelmatig op het podium. Recentelijk is de auto volledig opnieuw opgebouwd en gespoten met ongelooflijk veel aandacht voor detail op zowel technisch als cosmetisch niveau. Hiermee is hij klaar voor jarenlange nieuwe avonturen. Hij beschikt over veel interessante en leuke extra's, zoals de rollbar achter de twee voorstoelen, ventilatieopeningen in de voorschermen voor extra koeling, gewilde en zeldzame mistlampen gemonteerd op de voorscout, waarmee ook sommige 'Works' auto's werden uitgevoerd. Verder vinden we nieuwe multi spaak Dunlop velgen met Vredestijn Classic Sprint banden. Onder de auto zit er een sportieve side-pipe die de Healey een krachtig karakter geeft en meer bodemvrijheid. De Overdrive is bedienbaar achterop de versnellingspook en door middel van een knop op het dashboard. Ook onmisbaar voor rally's, is de Halda Twinmaster en de Brantz Tripmaster. Onder de motorkap is een 123 elektronische ontsteking aanwezig, samen met K&N luchtfilters en 3 carburateurs! Toen de Healey naar Nederland kwam in 1994 was te zien dat hij een schadevrij verleden heeft gehad en dat de carrosserie roestvrij is gebleven. Dit blijkt uit de perfecte passingen van deuren, motorkap, kofferdeksel en schermen. Tamelijk uniek voor een Healey!

Hij is in het bezit van een uitgebreide map vol historie met onder andere het Heritage Certificate , FIVA Indentity Card, een foto rapportage van de restauratie, keuringen en diverse facturen zijn aanwezig. Dit alles laat zien dat er goed gezorgd is voor deze Healey! Ook is er zowel een taxatierapport als een Dyno-rapport aanwezig. Het is een genot om met de auto te rijden: het rauwe geluid van de krachtige 6-cilinder motor, de fijne versnellingsbak met optionele overdrive, krachtige remmen en een laag zwaartepunt wat zorgt voor een ultieme bochtenervaring. Kortom: ongeëvenaarde puurheid van een iconische Engelse roadster uit de jaren 60 die klaar staat voor nieuwe avonturen!


Algemene informatie over de Austin-Healey 3000
De Austin-Healey 3000 kwam in 1959 op de markt en werd geproduceerd tot en met 1967. De 3000 was de opvolger van de 100-6. Dit voorgaande model had een een motor met minder cilinderinhoud (2.6 liter) en minder pk’s ten opzichte van de 3000 die voorzien is van een 3-liter motor met 130 pk. Austin Healey's waren destijds zeer succesvol op races en rally's. Een voorbeeld hiervan is BMC team rijder Pat Moss, de zus van sir Stirling Moss. Zij behaalde een 4e plaats in de Rally van Luik-Rome-Luik in België in een Austin-Healey 100/6 en won de eerste van haar vijf Europese Rallykampioenschappen voor dames. In 1960 behaalde Moss de algemene overwinning in Luik-Rome-Luik in een Austin-Healey 3000 en eindigde ze 2de in de Coupe des Alpes. De laatste Austin-Healey werd gebouwd in 1967 en de 3000 werd opgevolgd door de MG-C.

This beautiful Austin Healey was produced in October 1961 and was fully restored in 1994 by market specialist Kees Cardol in the Netherlands. It was delivered new in a Colorado Red (Colorado (Signal) Red: BMC code RD2, ICI code 3742), together with a black interior with red piping. Present with the Healey is a Heritage certificate showing that this particular Healey is ‘matching numbers’ and ‘matching colours’. Unique is the original ‘Old English White’ hardtop, today a precious accessory. The car has participated in a large number of mild road rallies and was regularly on the podium. The car was recently completely rebuilt and repainted with incredible attention to detail on both a technical and cosmetic level. This makes it ready for years of new adventures. It features many interesting and nice extras, such as the rollbar behind the two front seats, vents in the front wings for extra cooling, sought-after and rare fog lights mounted on the front scout, which some ‘Works’ cars were also equipped with. Furthermore, we find new multi spoke Dunlop rims with Vredestijn Classic Sprint tyres. Underneath the car there is a sporty side-pipe that gives the Healey a powerful character and more ground clearance. The Overdrive is operable on the back of the gear lever and by a button on the dashboard. Also indispensable for rallies, is the Halda Twinmaster and the Brantz Tripmaster. Under the bonnet is a 123 electronic ignition, along with K&N air filters and 3 carburettors! When the Healey came to the Netherlands in 1994, it could be seen that it has had a damage-free past and that the bodywork has remained rust-free. This is evidenced by the perfect fits of doors, bonnet, boot lid and screens. Rather unique for a Healey!

It is in possession of an extensive folder full of history including the Heritage Certificate , FIVA Indentity Card, a photo report of the restoration, inspections and various invoices are present. All this shows that this Healey has been well taken care of! Also present is both a valuation report and a Dyno report. It is a pleasure to drive the car: the raw sound of the powerful 6-cylinder engine, the fine gearbox with optional overdrive, powerful brakes and a low centre of gravity that provides the ultimate cornering experience. In short: unrivalled purity of an iconic 1960s English roadster ready for new adventures!


General information about the Austin-Healey 3000
The Austin-Healey 3000 entered the market in 1959 and was produced through 1967. The 3000 was the successor to the 100-6. This previous model had an engine with less displacement (2.6 litres) and less horsepower compared to the 3000 which featured a 3-litre engine with 130 hp. Austin Healey's were very successful at races and rallies at the time. An example is BMC team driver Pat Moss, sister of sir Stirling Moss. She finished 4th in the Liege-Rome-Liège Rally in Belgium in an Austin-Healey 100/6 and won the first of her five Women's European Rally Championships. In 1960, Moss took overall victory at Liege-Rome-Liege in an Austin-Healey 3000 and finished 2nd in the Coupe des Alpes. The last Austin-Healey was built in 1967 and the 3000 was succeeded by the MG-C.
