Vintage and XX-Rare Hickok 605 A Valve / Audio Tube Tester *Working* *As-Is*
Here is a fantastic and very clean device to test your audio tubes ( " tube amp lover " : this unite is for you)
A vintage and XXX-Rare Hickok 605 A valve / audio tube tester in working conditions ( but not calibrated !! )
Working conditions means : that I tested more than 70 tubes for my different guitar amps with this device ( 6L6 / EL84 / EL34 / KT 66 / KT 88 / ECC 83 / 12 AX7 / 12 AT7 ) AND I CONTROLED WITH MY OTHER DEVICE ( TV-7 D/U ) TO BE SURE TO HAVE THE SAME RESULTS ( Not exactly same measures, because 2 units don't work the same, but good tubes were good and bad were bad on both units....if you understand what I mean ;-)
This unit run in 110 volts ( I use a transformer 110/220, but it's not sold with this sale because I keep it for my other device )
The " roll chart " is working, because I placed it in its good position, when I opened the device for taking pictures. ( first pictures were taken before ...)
SO THAT'S MEAN, THAT IF YOU WANT TO USE IN A PROFESSIONAL WAY, YOU NEED TO CALIBRATE IT !!!!
The Hickok 605A is a vintage measuring and analysis device highly regarded by tube audio enthusiasts and radio hobbyists. Designed in the 1950s by The Hickok Electrical Instrument Company, this instrument combines a high-end tube tester with a full-featured circuit analyzer (VOM).
Key Features Dynamic Mutual Conductance Measurement: Unlike basic emission testers, the 605A evaluates tubes under actual operating conditions, displaying values directly in micromhos (µmhos) or via a simplified “REPLACE-GOOD” scale.
Circuit Analyzer Function (VOM): Includes multimeter functions to measure voltages, resistances (ohms), currents (milliamps), and capacitance (microfarads) directly on radio receivers.
Internal Rectifier Tubes: Operates using two internal tubes, an 83 (mercury vapor rectifier for high voltage) and a 5Y3GT.
Shared Compatibility: Shares its test data tables and roll chart settings with the popular Hickok 533A and 600A models.
