Maurilio Manara (geboren 12 sept. 1945) - gekend onder zijn prof. naam Milo Manara, is een italiaanse striptekenaar en schrijver en het meest gekend door zijn erotische benadering van het genre - (born september 12, 1945), known professionally as Milo Manara, is an italian comic book writer and artist and best known for his erotic approach to the medium. Manara heeft in het verleden ook gewerkt voor frans-belgische stripmagazines (charlie mensuel, pilote en echo des savannes). Voor A Suivre maakte hij ook de tekeningen van HP en Giuseppe Bergman. De persoon HP was gebaseerd op zijn vriend en eveneens striptekenaar Hugo Pratt, die ook aan enkele van zijn meest bekende realistaties heeft meegewerkt.
Manara did some publishing work in several franco-belgian comics magazines including charlie mensuel, pilote and l'écho des savanes. For A Suivre, Manara created the first stories featuring HP and Giuseppe Bergman, which grew to become a large body of work. The character HP is based on Manara's friend, the italian comics creator Hugo Pratt, and a collaborator on some of Manara's most acclaimed work.
