  • Studied engraving techniques at the Royal Academy Schools under Francesco Bartolozzi. Henry Meyer's first engravings were published in the early nineteenth century. During the following years he excelled with both portraits and decorative subjects. In the former category he engraved such individuals as Lady Hamilton, Admiral Nelson, Sir John Nicholl, Lord Hawkesbury and Guiseppe Ambrogetti. Henry Meyer was also a founding member of the Society of British Artists and exhibited much of his work with this association from 1824 to 1831.
  • Henry Meyer engraved portraits of Lady Emma Hamilton (1765-1815) at least twice during his career. Both were based upon the paintings of George Romney. The most celebrated beauty of the day, Lady Hamilton was also famous as the mistress of Lord Nelson.
