Late Edo period. 19th century.
Signed Mitsubumi with seal (1812-1879)
Dimensions :
Frame : 62.9 cm x 34.4 cm
Painting : 34.4 cm x 27.7 cm
Description of the artist : Mitsubumi, Tosa painter. Second son of Tosa Mitsuzane; adopted by Tosa Mitsutomi. An official of the Inner Palace Guards. A Kyoto artist, worked in the style of the revived "Yamato-e" School.
(Bib. "The Painters of Japan", Arthur Morrison, Vol.1 - 1911 and "Japanese Artists", Laurance P. Roberts - 1976)
Condition : Some stains (see photo next to the signature), no restoration. Frame in good condition.
