Fine and High-quality cushion cabinet from the province of Gelderland in the Netherlands.
You can see it is Gelderland by the shape of the hood; that slanted shelf with that beautiful carving with two putti (angels) and floral acanthus motifs under the cornice is typical Gelderland.
Beautifully and artistically executed high-quality carving.

In Dutch Renaissance style.
The Italian Renaissance began three centuries earlier in the 15th century.
In the Netherlands among the elite around 1580 - 1600.

At the time this cabinet was made - around 1650 - the Netherlands had become the richest country in the world.
This is due to the then unique and inventive economic distribution key.
So inventive that the first stock exchange where shares were traded was established in Amsterdam.
The world's first industrial park appeared above Amsterdam in De Zaan, on a large scale with hundreds of wind turbines as engines.
Where wood was sawn en masse, oil was pressed, paint and hundreds of materials and products were made that were sold from there to Germany and France.

We see that wealth reflected in this cupboard.
Even then it was very expensive to have made such a piece of furniture .
People confirmed their status in expensive houses, household goods, jewelry and clothing.
Nowhere was so much high-quality furniture made as in the Netherlands.

Beautiful deep cushions with precious wood.
The cabinet stands high on three black ball feet with elegant arches in between, so it does not look heavy but elegant.
Nice variation of light oak and black wood.
Symmetrical and balanced.
The posts with panels and inlaid wood run above these ball legs, which enhances the symmetry.
This piece of furniture is also beautifully finished on the inside with thin quartersawn oak.
Very nice and shiny waxed.
The lock is original and works and the key is even included.
