Beschrijving

A late 19th to early 20th century brass coloured hand mirror designed in a Victorian like style.

The frontside of the frame displays multiple organic shapes, mostly leafs. The mirror is a thick layer of glass with beveled edges and is crafted in such way that it perfectly fits the complex shape of the frame.

The metal, probably being a copper alloy (een mengeling van metalen waaronder in dit geval koper) shows green corrosion across the metal surface. The glass or mirror loses its reflective properties on certain areas and shows signs of aging.

The front side of the bottom of the handle shows a carved out signature reading what seems to be, F. Bouguet.

The mirror weighs 0,55 kg, has a width of 12 cm, a height of 30 cm and a depth of 0,8 cm.
