In 2023 lanceerde Sasanokawa Shuzo een nieuwe versie van de Asaka Single Malt. Deze whisky is gemaakt van uitsluitend geselecteerde maltwhisky's die geproduceerd worden in de Asaka-distilleerderij.

De Yamazakura Asaka 2023 Editie biedt een complexe en smaakvolle combinatie van Asaka sake, gerijpt in bourbonvaten, met een verfijnde Japanse single malt whisky.

De subtiele turfgeur vestigt de aandacht op de smaak. Rustig en zacht, met een kenmerkende, subtiele citruszuurheid die alleen bij Asaka te vinden is, en een verfrissende geur. Een lichte body, een gematigd vanillearoma, een moutsmak en de zoetheid van het vat vullen elkaar perfect aan, met een stevige maar korte afdronk.

De aroma's van witte druiven, kumquats, yoghurt en koekjes zijn aanwezig in deze niet-koud gefilterde, kleurloze whisky. De smaakpapillen werden geprikkeld door een harmonieuze mix van melkcake, vanillewafel, pruim en zoetzure smaken. Een lichte turfachtige afdronk volgt op de vervagende zuurgraad. Asaka Distillery
Asaka, de enige whiskystokerij in de Tohoku-regio, werd in 2015 opgericht door Sasanokawa Shuzo, een bedrijf dat in 1765 werd opgericht en gespecialiseerd is in de productie van alcoholische dranken.

De distilleerderij is gevestigd in de prefectuur Fukishima en profiteert van uitzonderlijke lokale natuurlijke hulpbronnen, waaronder water afkomstig uit de diepten van het Inawashiro-meer, een van de grootste meren van het land.

In 2023, Sasanokawa Shuzo launched a new version of the Asaka Single Malt. This whisky is made from only select malt whiskies produced at the Asaka distillery.

Offering the Yamazakura Asaka 2023 Edition. An intricate and tasty combination of non-pitched Asaka sake from bourbon barrels is combined with a sophisticated single malt Japanese whisky.

Peat has a faint scent that draws attention to the flavor. Calm and soft, with a distinctive Asaka-only subtle citrus acidity and a refreshing scent. A light body, moderate vanilla aroma, malt flavor, and sweetness from the barrel all work well together, with an aftertaste that is firm but brief.

The aroma of white grape, kumquat, yogurt, and cookie is present in this non-chill filtered, colorless whisky. The tongue was filled with a harmonious blend of milk sponge cake, vanilla wafer, plum, and sweet and sour flavors. A light peat aftertaste follows the acidity's fading finish.
