Original NCO infantry M41 (1941) HBT style refereed as summer Field Blouse Feldbluse Drillich tunic work shirt, with matching insignia, in unworn mint condition.
It started his life as a Heer Wehrmacht green-dyed HBT (herringbone twill ) work/drill Drillichanzug fatigues and is dated 41 (= 1941 black ink full tailor maker and size markings inside on the right panel) training fatigue that was wartime upgraded to a summer combat feldbluse.
Lay flat collar with a metal hook and loop neck closure. The interior is unlined with grey cotton for reinforcements at the seams, overall finely stitched. The front is closed with six metal buttons rather than the previous five, another indication of the M41 tunic style, due to the decline of material quality. It incorporates four front patch pockets with scalloped flaps and pleats. From 1942 on, the fatigue (drill/working) HTB clothings began to function as true field tunics, hence this M41 fatigue tunic was upgraded to a Feldbluse field tunic M42 style by adding matching shoulder straps (with white board Waffenfarbe indicating Infantry), wartime type collar Litzen insignia with the universal pattern being the dark green stripe in the middle instead of the Waffenfarbe colour and a non-conforming but original early dark green wool based Mannschaften Obergefreiter triangle Winkel. looking at it’s stitching it seems like a post war addition “because it looks good”. The button for the inside first aid bandage pocket is missing.
