Late 18th century antique Ottoman flintlock pistol with a very rare octagonal barrel, hard to find with these kind of barrels.
Very long pistol with a length of 48 cm, which is also exceptional.
This is a typical "holster pistol" style arm, used throughout the Ottoman empire and much of the Mediterranean area. The pistol comes with a typical Ottoman flintlock mechanism bearing a "swan neck" cock.
The carved stock is beautifully inlaid with diver wire and the pistol is highly decorated.
Object comes with a matching antique Ottoman gunpowder flask in leather (age may vary).
Antique condition with an authentic patina matching with the age (see the pictures).
