Estruch is one of the oldest still existing guitar workshops in Spain, started more than 130 years ago in Barcelona. The story of the Estruch guitars begins in the year 1880, when Juan Estruch Rosell builds his first guitar. Soon more will follow and a successful workplace will develop in the Carrer Ample in Barcelona. The tradition is continued by his son Juan Estruch Sastre, who takes over the management of the studio after the Spanish civil war in 1939. He, in turn, is succeeded by his son Juan Estruch Pipó.Estruch is the oldest existing guitar studio in Cataluna, and the second oldest in Spain. The guitars are built in the traditional Spanish way. These hand-built guitars meet high quality requirements, due to the materials used and the craftsmanship and attention with which they are built. A famous Estruch guitar is the one used by Chet Atkins which is displayed at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum.This Trovador 500 model is from the 70's, in great condition and sounding really good.
