Like the AKG D224E and D202, the D3600 has two elements for capturing high and low frequencies. Unlike the others, the D3600 was built with durability in mind, and the elements are well protected and road worthy. The combination of the two elements lets the D3600 capture a balanced combination of high and low end - if there's too much low end the microphone features a bass-cut switch. AKG didn't make many of these (and other models look similar), so these microphones haven't gained the recognition they deserve.
