This instrument belongs to the first series of Series II sopranos and still bears the "Super Action" inscription, which later disappeared.

This is the first double-neck soprano made by Selmer and it departs significantly from the "Selmer sound" concept of previous sopranos.
While it retains the intrinsic nasal quality typical of Selmer, the sound is darker and bigger.

Despite the instrument being physically heavier, it is not physically harder to play — it's probably actually easier for players who aren't soprano specialists.
The intonation has certainly been given more attention, and it doesn't require a particular mouthpiece to play well.

On the first series of Series III sopranos, the necks was different: the inside of the neck isn't threaded ("Booster" neck) and the tip flange (at the tip) is shorter, which makes the instrument easier to use with mouthpieces not strictly dedicated to classical playing — something particularly appreciated by jazz saxophonists.

The instrument is over 30 years old and, for its age, is in excellent cosmetic condition.

Light signs of use for its age, some oxidation under the left thumb rest plate and thumb hook and a small repair on the bell (not fully visible).

It has had a single owner and has been played regularly, yet not intensively.
The instrument is ready to play and is in very good working condition — it doesn't need servicing in the short term.

The instrument comes with all its original accessories (excluding the neck strap).
