I'm selling this VGS/ViG bass, Cobra Pro model. The bass has the ViG logo, but the brand was renamed VGS shortly afterward and is better known under that name. It's a Swiss/German brand that was part of the Gewa group. To my knowledge, this brand no longer exists.

I've had it since 2011 (bought "like new").

Here are the specs:
- Made in South Korea
- Swamp ash body
- Maple neck-through construction
- Ebony fretboard
- Flamed maple top with a satin finish
- 34" scale length

EMG active preamp (3-band EQ). The pickups have been upgraded to active EMG 35DC-X and 35CS-X pickups. The circuit has been modified to run in 18V, powered by two 9V batteries.

This model is clearly inspired by ESP/LTD, but it's not just a cheap copy. The construction is of very high quality, with meticulous attention to detail. It's very comfortable to play and sounds fantastic with the active EMGs! Back then, the new price was around 900€ (without the pickup upgrade).

As you can see from the photos, this bass has been used extensively. It's been with me through many concerts across Europe. All the flaws are purely cosmetic and do not affect playability or sound in any way. The bass is currently tuned to ADGC (like a 5-string, two semitones lower than standard).

I'm selling it because I only play 5-strings now, and I haven't used it for years. I'm in no hurry to sell, and I don't intend to lower the price. I'm not looking for a trade either.

Local pickup at my place in Rhode-Saint-Genèse. Testing is of course possible. I will not ship it.
