Good vintage condition with minor signs of age and use consistent with its age. The upper disc is slightly tilted off-axis, a subtle age-related characteristic that does not affect the lamp's functionality or overall appearance.

An iconic piece of Swedish Mid-Century Modern lighting, this original Lamingo BN-25 table lamp was designed by Hans-Agne Jakobsson and produced by AB Markaryd during the 1960s. Its elegant three-tiered white lacquered metal shade is among Jakobsson's most celebrated and enduring designs.

The layered construction of the shade is engineered to diffuse and reflect the light rather than expose the bulb directly. When illuminated, the lamp creates an incredibly soft, warm and atmospheric glow, filling the room with beautiful indirect light while remaining completely glare-free. The sculptural shade appears to float, making the lamp just as striking when switched off as it is when lit. It is a perfect example of Jakobsson's philosophy that lighting should create atmosphere rather than simply provide illumination.

The name Lamingo derives from the word lamellae (lameller in Swedish), referring to the layered construction of the shade. The series was marketed under the slogan "Lamingo – Mood Lighting Lamps," reflecting Jakobsson's dedication to creating warm, inviting interiors through beautifully diffused light. Alongside the Lamingo series, he also designed the celebrated laminated pinewood lamps produced by his other company, AB Ellysett.

Today, the BN-25 is regarded as one of the classics of Scandinavian lighting design, prized by collectors for its timeless aesthetic, exceptional light quality and elegant simplicity.
