In Greek mythology, Pan, the god of the wild, shepherds, and flocks, is often depicted pursuing nymphs, particularly the nymph Syrinx. The story of Pan and Syrinx is a well-known myth where Pan's pursuit of Syrinx ends with her transformation into reeds to escape him. He then creates the panpipes, also known as syrinx, from these reeds, forever associating her name with his musical instrument Weight : 5.05 Gram 19.1 x 18.6 mm High Qualty. Transformation and Invention: To escape Pan's grasp, Syrinx was transformed into reeds. Pan, heartbroken and frustrated, then fashioned a musical instrument from these reeds, naming it after her, the syrinx, or panpipes. Other Nymphs: While Syrinx is the most famous nymph associated with Pan, other nymphs like Pitys (who became a pine tree) and Echo (who was infatuated with Narcissus) also feature in myths involving Pan, though their stories often end with their transformation or rejection of his advances
