A very interesting piece of classic PC gaming history and a great title for collectors of Westwood Studios games.

This 1997 PC CD-ROM edition of Monopoly was developed by Westwood Studios, the legendary studio behind Command & Conquer, Command & Conquer: Red Alert, Dune II and many other iconic PC classics. Rather than simply being a straightforward digital version of the board game, Westwood gave Monopoly a distinctly 1990s PC treatment with colourful 3D animations, sound effects, music and multiple ways to play.

The game features animated game pieces, a fully rendered 3D game board, computer-controlled opponents and multiplayer support, including the ability to play over the Internet. The soundtrack is also of particular interest to Westwood collectors, featuring music by Frank Klepacki, the composer famous for the legendary Command & Conquer soundtracks.

This is the European Dutch-language edition, released by Hasbro Interactive in 1997. The original large PC Big Box is in very good overall condition for its age, with some minor signs of storage and handling visible on the packaging. A particularly nice addition to a collection focused on Westwood Studios, Command & Conquer, classic PC gaming or 1990s CD-ROM releases.

A very cool combination of a timeless board game and the unmistakable Westwood Studios era of PC gaming.
