The Dell FXHMV PCIe Riser Card is an internal expansion module designed to increase the PCI Express slot availability in compatible Dell PowerEdge rack servers (commonly R720 and R720xd models). Installed directly onto the server’s motherboard via an internal connector, the riser card routes additional PCIe lanes from the system board into accessible PCIe x16 expansion slots inside the chassis. This enables system builders and administrators to add highperformance I/O cards, such as network interface cards (NICs), RAID storage controllers, host bus adapters (HBAs), or other PCIe expansion cards, without needing a larger chassis or a different server model.
