Paul de Leeuw developed a special relationship with Major Bosshardt of the Salvation Army, after she had been a guest in his television shows several times. When she died in June 2007 at the age of 94, De Leeuw found her funeral service so inspiring that he decided to dedicate himself to the Majoor Bosshardt Fund. Together with pianist Cor Bakker and his own band, the Amsterdam Staff Songsters & Band of the Salvation Army, he made the album Het Wordt Winter !, of which part of the proceeds will go to the fund. In addition to some Christmas songs, De Leeuw sings Dutch-language listening songs that are very suitable for the winter months. The song Lord, Don't Hide Your Face was one of the major's favorite songs. De Leeuw also chose atmospheric covers and songs with music and lyrics by the couples Tjeerd Oosterhuis / Huub Oosterhuis, Astrid Seriese / Arthur Japin and Joop Stokkermans / Ivo de Wijs. No Moment Thought belongs to the talented Jan Groenteman (Hanneke's cousin). De Leeuw sings two duets, one with his dear Simone Kleinsma and the other with Mathijs Pater, known to the television audience as a candidate for the contest Looking for Joseph.
