A charming and elegant antique wall-mounted letter holder, dating to circa 1900, with a beautifully shaped wooden construction and richly decorative metal ornaments.The holder features two separate compartments, traditionally intended for letters, correspondence, documents or other small items. The warm-toned wood has a naturally aged appearance and an attractive patina, while the gently curved backboard and shaped compartments give the piece a refined and distinctly period character.Particularly appealing are the ornate central metal appliqués, featuring delicate floral and scrolling details, together with the smaller decorative metal fittings along the lower edges. The combination of curved wood and decorative metalwork gives this piece the elegant character associated with late 19th- and early 20th-century interiors.Both compartments remain intact and the holder remains decorative and functional, making it suitable for use as a letter or document holder while also working beautifully as a period decorative piece in a hallway, study, office or vintage interior.The piece retains an attractive authentic aged patina, with minor scratches, marks and areas of wear consistent with its age and previous use.
