Info on di-litho : the di-litho technology, a lithographic technology in which the printing plate prints directly onto the printing substrate, was basicly uniquely created for newspaper printing. The benefit of this technology was that conventional letterpress rotary printing presses could be used. Printing was done with conventional printing plates,however a special coating needed to be applied to them because of the very high tension because of the direct contact with the paper and the high stability with the full print run. Info on Kevin J. Taylor : born in 1963 in Harlem (New York) is an american comic (erotic) book artist. Kevin J. Taylor got his first professional order for a convention in San Diego. His first heroin was called exotica and she was fighting against organised crime due to her skills in martial arts. These series were published by 'Cry for dawn'. Sexuality is taking already an important place even though this a crime and adventures series. In 1990, he creates a new female heroin girl, which is giving him a widely spread career and boosting his international reputation. He works in New York, near Greenwich village, from his designer/drawing studio 'black dot'. He works for a lot of fantasy magazines : fang, girl, sizzle, kiss comix, exotica, razor, sirius, cry for dawn, dark fantasies etc. Creating covers and special features (zie extra fotos).
Info on Bolermo group (issuer of these lithos) : Bolermo was an unofficial and not quite formel group, founded in 1995 and organized by Viktor Boler. The group was helping young and upcoming artists, designers, sculptors etc. By giving them the materials for creating their ‘art’ and amongst these materials were the printing machines for graphics and etchings using different techniques. Amongst these techniques : the di-litho ! These printed di-lithos were extra painted with oil and/or aquarel and sometimes with mixed materials to give an unexpected and unique ‘touch’ to the once existing ‘images’. But it also means that a lot of the di-lithos are non-authorized by the original artist and as such extremely rare and sought after artefacts !
